Dan Lavender appointed as Head of Financial Services Group
At the same time the Group will be repositioned to draw together contentious and non-contentious advice for clients in the financial services sector.
Dan Lavender has been a partner at the firm since 2003 in the Litigation department and predominantly advises in the contentious financial services field, leading important litigation and investigations work for many of the firm’s most important clients in this sector.
Once the combination is fully complete, the Financial Services Group will consist of three partners, with Dan working alongside existing Financial Services partners Michelle Kirschner and Paul Ellison. A small team of associates who work closely with Dan in this arena will also move across to join the Financial Services team.
Dan Lavender commented: “This is an exciting move. My contentious team already works closely with our advisory colleagues and combining our expertise will streamline client services. Several clients have already welcomed the news and I am looking forward to heading up this dynamic group.”
Macfarlanes senior partner Charles Martin added: “We have taken this opportunity to look afresh at our offering in this area. Clients like a combined approach so we have taken the opportunity to reconfigure things that way. Dan is a leading figure on the contentious side and things are well positioned to achieve a comprehensive and seamless combination in short order.”
