Macfarlanes advises on £1bn Argus deal

Macfarlanes has advised Adrian Binks, the executive chairman and significant shareholder in global energy and commodity price reporting agency Argus, on Argus’ strategic partnership with leading global growth equity firm General Atlantic.

The deal, which values Argus at c.£1bn, will see General Atlantic acquire a majority stake in the business, enabling Argus to fuel its next phase of global expansion. Adrian Binks will retain a significant shareholding in Argus and remain actively involved in the business going forwards.

The Macfarlanes team was led by corporate M&A partners Jessica Adam and John Dodsworth.
