Mayfair Equity partners turns to Macfarlanes on debut fund raising

Macfarlanes has advised mid-market private equity firm Mayfair Equity Partners (Mayfair) on the closure of its first fund at £400m, ahead of its £350m target.

The fund received commitments from investors in Europe, the UK, North America and Asia and will focus on providing growth and buyout capital to technology and consumer businesses.

Daniel Sasaki, founding partner of Mayfair, commented: “As our debut fund this is a milestone achievement for us and the Macfarlanes team offered support and guidance throughout the entire process.  Their knowledge and experience was invaluable.”

The Macfarlanes team was led by head of investment management Stephen Robinson, with investment management solicitor Edward Prestwich.  Partner Mark Baldwin advised on tax aspects.
