Richard Burrows joined the firm as a senior associate having trained and worked at a Magic Circle firm. He has since played a critical part in a number of the most high profile M&A transactions that Macfarlanes has worked on. He was the lead associate in advising Altria, the largest shareholder in SABMiller (holding 27 per cent) on AB Inbev’s £79bn offer for SABMiller and Altria’s investment in the new parent of the combined group. Richard has a broad practice across all fields of company and corporate law, including private acquisitions and disposals, public takeovers and ECM transactions.

Jeremy Moncrieff joined the firm as a senior associate having trained and worked at a Magic Circle firm. His focus within the corporate tax and structuring practice is on public and private M&A and reorganisations, particularly for corporate clients. He has worked on a variety of private equity sponsor driven transactions and corporate M&A including playing an important role on the recent merger of Visa International and Visa Europe.

Sarah Ward trained with the firm and since qualification has focused on acting for lenders in our banking and finance practice. Along with acting for our longstanding banking clients she has acted for a number of important credit fund clients in recent years.
