Macfarlanes advises management of Northgate Public Services Ltd on sale to NEC Corporation

Macfarlanes has advised the management team of UK-based IT services company Northgate Public Services Limited on its £475m sale to Japanese multinational NEC Corporation from private equity firm Cinven.

Northgate Public Services develops software and services for the UK public sector and particularly for British police and government organisations. This acquisition will see the two companies combine and develop their technical solutions for public safety including enhanced identity authentication, AI technologies for detecting social security fraud and image analysis techniques including facial recognition.      

The deal is expected to close by the end of January 2018.
