Macfarlanes advises Mayfair Equity Partners as second fund closes at £650m hard cap

Macfarlanes has advised London-based private equity firm Mayfair Equity Partners (Mayfair) on the raising of its second fund, Mayfair Equity Partners Fund II LP, which has closed at its hard cap of £650m exceeding its target of £600m.

The fund received commitments from both new and existing investors based in Europe, the UK and the US, and will help Mayfair to continue its strategy of providing growth and buyout capital to technology and consumer businesses.

This is Mayfair’s second fundraise in less than four years, with Macfarlanes also advising on its inaugural fund which closed at £400m in 2016. This takes Mayfair’s total assets under management to more than £1bn.

The Macfarlanes team was led by investment management partner Stephen Robinson with assistance from investment management senior solicitor Edward Prestwich and investment management solicitor Jonathan Dixon. Tax expertise was provided by partner Mark Baldwin.

Daniel Sasaki, Managing Partner at Mayfair Equity Partners comments: “We are delighted to complete our second fundraise following the success of our maiden fund. We would like to thank Macfarlanes for their continued support and invaluable advice throughout the fundraising.”

Stephen Robinson comments: “We were very pleased to work with Mayfair again on their most successful fundraising to date. It is always a pleasure to see our clients go from strength to strength.”
