Macfarlanes advises August Equity on closing of £300m fifth flagship fund

Macfarlanes has advised UK-based private equity firm August Equity Partners on the raising of its latest flagship fund, AEP V, which has closed at its hard cap of £300m, exceeding its target of £275m.

The fund was oversubscribed, with over 40% of the new capital coming from the US and Canada, comprising pension funds and endowments.

The Macfarlanes team for this matter was led by investment management partner Stephen Robinson with assistance from investment management senior solicitor Henry Stewart-Brown. Tax advice was provided by partner Mark Baldwin with assistance from senior solicitor Penny Van den Brande.
