Macfarlanes advises consortium of Stanhope, Mitsui and AIMCo on major office letting for L’Oréal at White City Place

Macfarlanes has advised Stanhope, Mitsui Fudosan and AIMCo on the letting of 110,000 square feet of office space at the consortium’s Gateway development in White City Place to the world’s largest cosmetics company L’Oréal.

The deal will see L’Oréal take six floors at what will be an 11-storey, 280,000 square foot building, moving its UK and Ireland headquarters from Hammersmith after more than 20 years. The company expects to commence the move in the autumn of 2023.

This is the latest in a number of lettings that Macfarlanes has assisted the consortium with at White City Place and the nearby Television Centre, having previously secured office space for multinational pharmaceutical company Novartis, French advertising and PR company Publicis Media and Hong Kong-listed fashion brand sister companies Global Brands Group (GBG) and Li & Fung.

Real estate partner Dan Marriott led the team for this matter assisted by real estate solicitor Charlotte Youngs and senior construction solicitor Bethan Ellis-Jones. Tax expertise was provided by senior counsel Kirsten Prichard Jones.

Dan Marriott comments: “We are delighted to have supported Stanhope, Mitsui Fudosan and AIMCo on another significant letting within this thriving development.”
