Macfarlanes advises Lycamobile on sale of its Spanish business to MasMovil

Macfarlanes has advised Lycamobile on the sale of its Spanish mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) business to MasMovil, a Spanish-listed telecoms business, for €372m.

Lycamobile Spain launched in 2010 with the aim of delivering low-cost mobile services of the highest quality to the market. The company has since become the country’s leading MVNO, with over 1.5 million customers.

The Macfarlanes team for this matter was led by corporate and M&A co-head and partner Howard Corney with support from corporate and M&A solicitor Tim Wickenden, commercial senior solicitor Anne Todd and commercial solicitor Robert Grant.

Howard Corney comments: “We are pleased to have advised Lycamobile on this milestone transaction and look forward to continuing to support the group as they seek to expand into new and exciting markets.”

Mohammed Malique, Special Advisor to the Board at Lycamobile comments: “We were delighted to be supported by a Macfarlanes team lead by Howard Corney. The team’s hands on approach, dedication, and grasp of their subject matter were all first class and it was a pleasure to work with them.”
