Macfarlanes advises VTB Capital in respect of £3bn take-private of KAZ Minerals plc by Nova Resources
28 October 2020Macfarlanes has advised investment banking company VTB Capital in connection with a £3bn sale of Kazakhstani-based and London-listed copper company KAZ Minerals to investment company Nova Resources, a consortium formed by two of KAZ Minerals’ largest shareholders.
VTB Capital acted as a financial adviser to Nova Resources and provided the financing for the transaction.
The transaction is subject to certain conditions and is expected to complete in the first half of 2021.
The Macfarlanes team was led by corporate and M&A partner Robert Boyle with assistance from corporate and M&A senior counsel Tim Redman. Finance advice was provided by partner Kirstie Hutchinson and senior solicitor Ryan Moore, and derivatives and trading expertise came from partner Will Sykes and senior counsel Alexander Coyne.
