Macfarlanes advises CHC Helicopter on acquisition of Babcock’s offshore oil and gas aviation business

Macfarlanes has advised CHC Helicopter Group, one of the world’s leading helicopter services and maintenance, repair and overhaul providers, on its acquisition of the offshore oil and gas aviation business of FTSE 250 company Babcock International Group plc.

Following the transaction, which completed on 31 August 2021, Babcock’s operations in the UK, Denmark and Australia will be held separately and operate independently from CHC while approvals are sought from the competition authorities in the UK and Australia.

The Macfarlanes team was led by corporate and M&A partner Tom Rose, alongside competition partners Tom Usher and Christophe Humpe.
