Macfarlanes advises Waterland Private Equity Investments on its acquisition of Priory Group

Macfarlanes has advised Waterland Private Equity Investments on its acquisition of Priory Group, the leading provider of behavioural healthcare services in the UK, from Acadia Healthcare Company Inc.

Waterland, a new client for Macfarlanes, intends to combine Priory Group with its existing portfolio company MEDIAN, Germany’s leading provider of rehabilitation, neurology and orthopaedic treatments, to create Europe’s leading rehabilitation and mental health services provider.

The transaction is expected to complete in January 2021.

The Macfarlanes team for this matter was led by corporate and M&A partners Peter Baldwin and Stephen Pike with assistance from solicitor Patrick O’Connor. Competition law expertise was provided by partner Malcolm Walton, tax advice was provided by partner Peter Abbott and solicitor Sarah Ling and regulatory expertise came from partner Andrew Henderson.
