Macfarlanes advises Synova as fifth fund closes at £875m hard cap

Macfarlanes has advised UK-based private equity firm Synova as its fifth fund, Synova V, closes at its hard cap of £875m (exceeding its target of £750m).

The new fund, which reached its cap in only three months, will continue Synova’s investment strategy of investing in growth companies across technology, healthcare and education, business services and financial services.

Synova is a long-standing client of the firm, with Macfarlanes advising on all of its prior funds.

The Macfarlanes team for this matter was led by investment management partner Chris Good with assistance from senior associate Henry Stewart-Brown and trainee solicitor Umar Jamil. Tax expertise was provided by partner James McCredie alongside associates Luca Parrott and Lawrence Parkin.

Chris Good comments: “We are very pleased to have been involved in another highly successful fundraise for Synova. The single closing after an accelerated timetable represents a fantastic result for the Synova team.
