Macfarlanes advises the Ministry of Sound Group on mixed use takeover of House of Fraser store at Westfield London

Macfarlanes has advised the Ministry of Sound Group (The Ministry) on an agreement with Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield (Westfield), owner of Westfield shopping centre, to open The Ministry Shepherd’s Bush, a new concept combining workspace, a multi-studio fitness centre and a rooftop bar and restaurant, in the space currently occupied by the House of Fraser store.

Both The Ministry and Westfield will be investing in the 115,000 square foot project, with work expected to start later in the year and the site due to open in Q1 of 2024.

This will be the second mixed use site in The Ministry’s portfolio, having opened The Ministry Borough Road in 2018 which reached full occupancy within its first year.

The Macfarlanes team for this matter was led by real estate partner Anthony Burnett-Scott alongside senior associate Sindhuja Shriananda.

Anthony Burnett-Scott comments: “At a time when people are evaluating how and where they work more than ever, we were delighted to work with The Ministry on this innovative new venture.”
