Macfarlanes advises J.C. Flowers & Co on £1.49bn sale of Interactive Investor to abrdn plc
02 December 2021Macfarlanes has advised private equity firm J.C. Flowers & Co on the sale of its shares in direct-to-consumer investing platform Interactive Investor to abrdn, one of the largest European investment and wealth managers, for approximately £1.49bn.
Interactive Investor is the UK’s second largest DIY investment platform, with more than 400,000 customers and assets under administration of approaching £55bn. The transaction is subject to the approval of abrdn’s shareholders and regulatory approval and is expected to complete in the second quarter of 2022. Interactive Investor will continue to operate independently within abrdn.
The Macfarlanes team was led by corporate and M&A partner Justin Hope alongside solicitor Annie McElwain.
