"Not much of a regulator" - the pensions regulator and the BHS pension scheme

Following BHS’s collapse into administration last month with a reported pension deficit of about £571m, a committee of MPs have grilled the Chief Executive of the Pensions Regulator, Lesley Titcomb and the Chief Executive of the Pension Protection Fund, Alan Rubenstein.

What emerges is that the MPs do not understand the legislation, its strengths and limitations and do not appreciate the ability of those who deal with its challenges day-to-day.
