Katie Bartlett Associate
Katie advises on the structuring, establishment and operation of onshore and offshore investment funds with a particular focus on UK authorised funds. She also advises asset managers and other financial services firms on various regulatory matters.
Katie advises a number of large asset managers and “host” authorised corporate directors on various matters relating to the structure, establishment and operation of regulated funds including: the establishment of umbrella, standalone or sub-fund OEICs and authorised unit trusts (UCITS, NURS and LTAFs); mergers and schemes of arrangement; fund terminations; fund range repositioning and rationalisations; and various ad hoc changes and updates to fund ranges. She has experience advising on the establishment of charity authorised investment funds and both authorised and private ESG sustainable/impact funds including the preparation of associated regulatory disclosures.
In addition to advice on the structuring, establishment and operation of investment funds, Katie assists clients in relation to ongoing regulatory and compliance matters, including assistance with Financial Services and Markets Act 2000 perimeter questions and the application of the Consumer Duty, UCITS directive, AIFMD, MiFID II and ESG-related regulations (including SFDR and the Taxonomy Regulation).
Katie is an active member of the firm’s ESG working group and founded the firm’s ESG internal hub, which was recognised at the Legal Week Innovation Awards 2022.
