Macfarlanes advises Supermarket Income REIT on £200m fundraise

Macfarlanes has advised long-standing client Supermarket Income REIT, the real estate investment trust dedicated to investing in supermarket property, on its £200m fundraise by means of a placing and offer for subscription, substantially exceeding the maximum initial target for the raise of £100m.

The transaction includes an ongoing placing programme.

Macfarlanes has advised Supermarket Income REIT on a significant number of equity raises in the years following its IPO in 2017, on which the firm also advised.

The Macfarlanes team was led by corporate and M&A partner Robert Boyle alongside senior counsel Mark Slade and solicitor Bryony Foley. Tax expertise was provided by partner Jeremy Moncrieff.

Robert Boyle comments: “We are delighted to have helped Supermarket Income REIT once again on this sizable placing which has received exceptionally strong support from investors.”
