Macfarlanes advises Ekistics Property Advisors on £118m acquisition of 20 St James’s Street

Macfarlanes has advised real estate investment advisor Ekistics Property Advisors on its £118m acquisition of 20 St James’s Street, a prestigious, mixed use property in central London

20 St James’s Street, which consists of over 53,000 square feet of multi-let Grade A office accommodation and a retail unit, was fully redeveloped in 2018, retaining the period façade. Ekistics has acquired a long leasehold interest from WELPUT advised by BentallGreenOak; the freehold is retained by the Crown Estate.

The Macfarlanes team was led by real estate partner Dominic Cunliffe and senior counsel Margaret Rhodes alongside corporate and M&A partner Justin Hope and solicitor Jordan Jacobs. Tax expertise was provided by senior counsel Kirsten Prichard Jones and construction advice came from senior solicitor Bethan Ellis-Jones.

Dominic Cunliffe comments: “We are delighted to have supported our long-standing client Ekistics on their acquisition of this prime property located in the heart of London’s West End.”
