Immigration for Individuals

We advise on a comprehensive range of UK immigration categories including work, study, family, start-up/innovator, investment and settlement routes.

We are fully experienced in successfully resolving complex situations including those involving previous refusals, adoption/surrogacy/family issues and discretionary applications outside the immigration rules.

We also advise on UK outbound applications and European Union (EU) free movement issues. This includes advising EU nationals and their family members on their current and future UK immigration position.

Documentation & process management

We provide a proactive and flexible service which is able to quickly respond to changes to travel plans or personal circumstances. The immigration process can be complex, requiring a large amount of documentation to be collated, often from a number of jurisdictions. There are also situations where a number of steps need to be completed for a single application. We therefore aim to provide clear, concise advice, free of legal jargon, to ensure that our clients are fully informed upfront about the process and the requirements.

In addition, we understand that immigration is only one consideration when an individual is thinking of moving to the UK, either by themselves or with their family. Consequently, working as an integral part of the private client team, we provide the full range of advisory services relating to tax planning and wealth management.

Family offices

We regularly work with family offices, looking after the immigration needs of multiple family members. Our in-house technology can assist family offices via a bespoke “portal” to ensure family members remain immigration compliant and provide a central repository for all key documents.

Exceptional talent

Assisting a Saudi Arabian actress and film director with the submission of a Tier 1 (Exceptional Talent) application. She is an important figure in the global film industry and has been instrumental in paving the way for other Saudi Arabian women looking to enter the field. The visa enabled her to take on a role with one the UK’s largest domestic broadcasters.

Investor offering

Prior to the closure of the Investor category to new applicants, we assisted a number of private banks and wealth managers on the development of a Tier 1 (Investor) portfolio offering. We reviewed the proposed investments and advised on the best way to operate the investment portfolio so that it was able to meet the relevant criteria. This involved working closely with senior policy contacts at the Home Office to obtain clarifications on a number of issues associated with the investment proposal.

Discretionary applications

Successfully obtained Tier 1 (Investor) visa extensions and indefinite leave to remain for clients who do not meet the requirements of the UK immigration rules. We liaised with our senior contacts at the Home Office to submit a discretionary application and the applications were successfully approved. In certain circumstances, this has been achieved on an expedited basis.
