Tim specialises in commercial litigation and arbitration for international and domestic clients, with a particular focus on financial services and corporate disputes.

Tim has successfully acted for clients in high-value complex litigation in the Court of Appeal, Privy Council, Competition Appeal Tribunal and international arbitration under LCIA and ICC rules.

His practice includes advising in relation to English law aspects of overseas proceedings, as well as in complex cross-border proceedings brought in the English Courts. In addition to advising financial institutions, multi-national corporates, funds, trust companies and high-net-worth individuals, Tim also has valuable in-house experience having been seconded to the litigation and investigations team of a major UK bank.

Tim is a member of the Financial Services Lawyers Association.

Advising the trust business of a major international bank in relation to various High Court and overseas litigation concerning the offshore trusts under its administration, including in relation to claims for fraud, negligence and breach of duty.

Roskilde bank of Denmark

Advising Roskilde Bank in its successful defence of this landmark mis-selling (subordinated debt) claim, both at trial and in the Court of Appeal.

Complex securitisation dispute

Advising on a dispute about the effect of a complex securitisation transaction in light of one party’s insolvency, governed by the LCIA Arbitration rules and involving foreign applicable law.

Professional negligence claim

Advising the executors of an estate in relation to a multi-million pound tax-related professional negligence claim.
