Macfarlanes advises August Equity on co-investment alongside CVC Capital Partners in Medivet

Macfarlanes has advised private equity firm August Equity on its co-investment alongside fellow private equity firm CVC Capital Partners for a minority stake in Medivet, a leading provider of veterinary services.

Medivet, which has been part-owned by private equity firm Inflexion since 2016, holds branches across the UK, Germany and Spain with over 450 centres in the UK and approximately 50 sites in Europe in partnership with local founders.

The Macfarlanes team was led by corporate and M&A partner Simon Perry, alongside senior solicitor Felicity Powell and solicitor Emma Bailey. Tax expertise was provided by senior counsel Sarah Shucksmith and solicitor Helen Broadbridge, with structuring advice coming from partner Stephen Robinson and senior solicitor Henry Stewart-Brown.

Simon Perry comments: “Medivet is an interesting business and we are pleased to have helped August Equity with its investment. We look forward to seeing the company’s continued growth in the future.”
