Alchemy turns to Macfarlanes for sale of Inn Collection Group

Long-standing private equity client Alchemy has turned to Macfarlanes for the sale of the Inn Collection Group (ICG) to a newly-formed company backed by the Harris family and Kings Park Capital.

ICG is a pub with rooms company based in the North of England and North Wales. When Alchemy first invested in the business in 2018 it had seven sites, with Alchemy’s support this has now increased to 30 freehold sites in prime tourist locations.

This is the second hospitality-focused deal that Macfarlanes has advised Alchemy on recently, having also acted on Alchemy’s acquisition of Raymond Blanc’s Brasserie Bar Co.

The Macfarlanes team for this matter was led by corporate and M&A partner Alex Green with assistance from solicitor Matilda Calvert-Barr. Finance advice was provided by partner Jat Bains and senior solicitor Christine Dowdall with tax expertise coming from partner James McCredie, senior solicitor Shaul Steinberg and solicitor Eugene Atkinson.
