Macfarlanes advises Hampshire Trust Bank on acquisition of Wesleyan Bank from Wesleyan Assurance Society

Macfarlanes has advised specialist lender Hampshire Trust Bank on its acquisition of Wesleyan Bank, a provider of savings accounts, ISAs, unsecured personal loans and commercial lending from financial services mutual, Wesleyan Assurance Society.

The deal is subject to regulatory approval.

The Macfarlanes team was led by corporate and M&A partners Alex Green and Howard Corney with assistance from senior solicitor Tom French. Regulatory advice came from partner Andrew Henderson senior solicitor Joy Davey and solicitor Ned Twigger. Employment expertise was provided by partner Sean Lavin and solicitor Olivia Wistow-Hughes and commercial advice came from partner Malcolm Walton and solicitor Mark Cusack.
